To Caerwent

With the MFA on my mind I decided to visit the Ancient Roman town of Caerwent on October 22nd. Many of my photographs are for reference purposes only, but I find that I pay much more attention to detail when I am surveying an area with my camera in hand. It was a bit chilly and wet, but it was valuable to see this town with its crumbling stone walls and mapped out foundations. I can only imagine how this charming, little grey town was the vibrant Silurian market capital. Would this have been where all the trade took place in the glory days of Silurian/Roman rule? Or the place where artefacts found around Gwent and Glamorgan crafted and purchased by Silures? The possibilities are many.
